WHAT IS CHILD DEDICATION?
Children are wonderful gifts from God, but it is challenging to raise godly children. We need God’s help and we need the help of a church family. Child Dedication is a special moment for parents to express their desire to raise their children in Jesus, for parents to seek God’s help, and for Village Chapel to commit to support parents as their church family in this journey.
Because the vows of child dedication are a promise before God and are connected in Christian community, we invite families where at least one parent is surrendered to Jesus and is connecting with Village Chapel by:

- participating with a LifeGroup, and/or
- serving in a ministry
WHO IS CHILD DEDICATION FOR?
Children ages 0-8 years old to participate.

WHAT IS THE CHILD DEDICATION INFO MEETING?
This is a 60 minute one-time meeting where you will be prepared for the Child Dedication, introduced to discipling your child for Jesus, and connected to resources to support you in this adventure. This meeting will be announced when we have a date for the next dedication. Lunch will be provided.

WHAT BIBLE PASSAGES POINT TO CHILD DEDICATION?
- In 1 Samuel 1:27-28, Hannah gives us a powerful model for entrusting our children to God as she says, “I asked the LORD to give me this boy, and He has granted my request. Now I am giving him to the LORD, and he will belong to the LORD his whole life.”
- In Luke 18:16, “Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, ‘Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them…’”
- In Deuteronomy 6:7, we are challenged to equip our children with the words of God. We are to “repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”
